Variety is the Spice of Life: A Celebration of WGS Restaurants

With the World Gourmet Summit gearing up for 2019,  we are collaborating and working with wonderful restaurants that offer a variety of cuisine, dishes and cultures. Here are some of the restaurants that WGS is partnering with:
Tamarind Hill

Located on the green jungle hilltops of Labrador Nature Reserve, in a beautifully restored heritage building, diners at Tamarind Hill will immediately feel enveloped by a sense of calm. Diners can choose from over 100 Thai and Burmese creations prepared from the freshest ingredients by a team of Thai chefs, who have each contributed heirloom recipes to create an extensive repertoire of traditional and modern dishes. Pick from a selection of house-infused Gins, signature cocktails, and fine wines from over 11 countries.
 
Shisen Hanten


 
Shisen Hanten is the popular name of the restaurant Akasaka Szechwan Restaurant in Japan, started in 1958 by the late Chen Kenmin who is regarded as Japan’s “Father of Szechwan Cuisine.”  He passed down his legacy to his eldest son, Chen Kenichi, who himself earned wide acclaim as one of Japan’s most celebrated iron chefs. Nicknamed “The Szechwan Sage,” Chen Kenichi’s signature dishes emphasised the seven basic flavours that give Szechwan food that distinct boldness, namely – sour, pungent, hot, sweet, bitter, aromatic, and salty.


Punjab Grill



To dine at Punjab Grill is to take an epicurean journey through Indian’s richly diverse Northwest Frontier Province — the undivided Punjab region.  From gourmet metropolises like Lahore, Peshwar, Rawalpindi, Kabul, Amritsar, Multan and Patiala, these cities and cultures are the source of inspiration for Punjab Grill, traditional recipes with a dash of panache and modernity thrown in.

Hua Ting



An exquisite Chinese restaurant serving the intricate tastes of Cantonese delicacies, Hua Ting uses authentic cooking techniques to serve traditional Cantonese cuisine. Hua Ting’s signature dishes include braised Australian green lips abalone and other provincial specialties by chef Chung Lap Fai and his team of talented chefs.  Offering an extensive Cantonese ala-carte or set menus from the highly sought-after dim sum to the food aficionados’ choice of exquisite seafood delights.
 
Bakalaki Greek Tavern



Bakalaki merges Greek traditions and culture, with their name combining traditional neighbourhood flavours, scents and colours with heart and soul for everything they do. WIth a deep-rooted love for tradition and creativity in the kitchen, the people behind Bakalaki want to share the fire and passion of Greek culture with the general public.

These restaurants are merely 5 of the restaurants that will be partnering with us for the WGS, and will be featuring a Celebratory Menu that will be running from the 1st to the 14th of April.
